President of Artsakh meets with the Armenian Community Council of the UK  ;

 

On Tuesday evening the 7th of July, 2015, the President of Artsakh, His Excellency Mr Bako Sahakyan accompanied with his Government colleagues, met with the Armenian Community Council of the United Kingdom (ACC UK) when fruitful discussions were held in relation to cooperation and the establishment of more extensive cultural and commercial relationship between the British Armenian community and Artsakh.

Following his meeting with the ACC UK, President Sahakyan accompanied with the Armenian Ambassador to the U.K., Dr Armen Sarkissian attended a public meeting at the St. Yeghiche Armenian Church where he spoke to the assembled members of the community.  Welcoming speeches were made by Ambassador Sarkissian, His Grace Bishop Hovakim Manukyan – Primate of the Armenian Churches in the United Kingdom and Ireland, and Mr Zorik Gasparian, Vice Chairman of the ACC UK who spoke to welcome the President on behalf of the Armenian Community of the United Kingdom.

President Sahakyan is in London on a visit which includes a lecture at Chatham House, a Reception at the House of Lords and also so as to be present at a function organised by the Embassy of Armenia together with the Armenian Community Council of the UK in honour of the founder of Humanitarian Aid Relief Trust, and a good friend of Armenia and of Artsakh, the Baroness Cox of Queensbury.
