KCCA under the auspices of the Embassy of Armenia to the UK has organised an event dedicated to the 150th birth anniversary of Alexander Spendiaryan and the 100th birth anniversary of Arno Babajanian.

The artistic and musical director of the event is conductor, tenor and pianist Sipan Olah (UK-Armenia) who will lead the concert.
Masterpieces by Spendiaryan and Babajanian will be performed by internationally acclaimed professional singers, sopranos-Andriana Yordanova (Malta-Bulgaria), Tatevik Ashuryan-Karapetyan (Germany), Hayarpi Yeghikyan (UK) and mezzo soprano Helen Rotchell (UK). Piano music will be presented by well-known pianists-Yulia Chaplina (UK-Russia), Maria Palazian (UK) and Stavros Dritsas (Greece). Violinist laureates-Ani Batikian (UK), Paula Gorbanova (Latvia) and violist-Gayane Mirzoyan (Austria) along with the Klingen Chamber Orchestra will play orchestral compositions by the two composers and the Klingen Choir will perform songs by Babajanian. Some of these pieces, including orchestral compositions “Yerevan sketches” and “Armenian Rhapsody” for two pianos have never been performed in the UK before.
There will be a picture exhibition by the British-Armenian artists Leonie Pilart and Anna Virabyan based on the themes of the concert’s musical programme.
Free refreshments will be available during the break of the concert and everyone will have the chance to enjoy the beautiful exhibition at the church.
