Armenian Genocide recognition indispensable precondition for Turkey to join EU: MEP

The recognition of the Armenian Genocide is an indispensable precondition for Turkey to join the EU. As reports “Armenpress” citing kibrispostasi.com, Greek MEP, the Head of the EU-Armenia Friendship Group Eleni Theocharous stated this. “Turkey has nothing to do in the EU and civilized world, as far as it denies the Armenian Genocide,” Eleni Theocharous noted in the European Parliament. In addition she underscored that Armenia is the EU’s ally in the Caucasus.

In April, 2013 the EU-Armenia Friendship Group members paid a visit to the Republic of Armenia and the Nagorno Karabakh Republic and had meetings with the Chairman of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia Hovik Abrahamyan and the Chairman of the National Assembly of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic Ashot Ghulyan. “Each man in this world has his homeland. But I am honored to have two homelands – Greece and Artsakh”.
