K. Tahta Armenian Sunday School

Kevork Tahta Armenian Sunday School aims to provide an inclusive education to promote a better knowledge of the Armenian language and to teach and educate all children who come to the school about Armenian heritage, culture, history and origins of Armenians and Armenia.

The school promotes good citizenship and mutual respect while appreciating our very special Armenian heritage. It believes students can achieve a great success and deal with supportive cooperation of the school- student - parent triangle that works together cooperatively, with understanding, hope, and determination.

The school also has responsibility to guide our students to become productive citizens of society at large and to make valuable contributions within the Armenian Community.

The school was founded at the initiative of (the then named) London Armenian Community and Church  Council and now functions as a Registered Charity Trust of the Armenian Community and Church Council of Great Britain. It was named after the late philanthropist Kevork Tahta (1895–1980) who donated £100,000 to the Community Council and which enabled them to set up a Trust for the benefit of the Community's religious, educational and cultural needs.

The first headteacher was Dr Kevork Chorbajian who served until 1979. He was succeeded by Dr Hovhannes Avakian who was headteacher from 1979 to 1983. From 1983 until her retirement in 2005, the school was under the most able headship of Mrs Anahit Kazarians BA, MA. The current headteacher is Mrs. Rousanna Tatulian BSc, MA.

Գ Թահթաեան Կիրակնօրեայ Ազգային Վարժարանում դասաւանդւում է Հայերէն լեզու, Հայոց պատմութիւն արեւմտահայերէն եւ արեւելահայերէն (դասական եւ հայաստանեան ուղղագրութեամբ), մանկապարտէզից մինչեւ իններորդ դասարաններում: Դպրոցում ունենք չափահաս օտարախօսների համար  արեւելահայերէն եւ արեւմտահայերէն դասարաններ:  Դասաւանդման ժամերն են կիրակի օրը ժամը 10:30 - 2:00:  Դպրոցում կազմակերպւել է նաեւ Մօր ու Մանկան (Mother and Toddler) դասարան ժամը 11:00-ից մինչեւ 2:00-ը:
