Funeral of Emilios Nicolaou

Family and friends mourn the sad loss of Emilios Nicolaou, who passed away on 17 February 2012.  He is survived by his wife Nora, and his children, Victoria and Nicholas.

His funeral will be held at 11am on Friday, 24 February at St Sarkis Church, Kensington.  Interment at Greenford Park Cemetery, Windmill Lane, UB6 9DU, followed by a reception at Ealing Golf Club, Perivale Lane, UB6 8TS.

Emilios, a talented footballer who played for the Cypriot national team, arrived in London with his Armenian wife at the age of 24.  Determined to pursue his beloved sport, and eager to share it with others, he worked tirelessly for the advancement of the newly established Armenian Football Club.

From 1964 to the present day, his love of the game and his unwavering dedication inspired countless young Armenians to get involved in the sport, which rightly took its place at the heart of the community.  Armenian Youth Association Football Club will proudly continue to build upon his indelible legacy of sportsmanship, passion and achievement.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to AYA FC.
