Aram, “You Are Not Alone”, our votes and hearts are with you!
LET US BRING EUROVISION SONG CONTEST 2015 TO ARMENIA, WHAT A TRIUMPH IT WOULD BE FOR OUR NATION IN SUCH A SIGNIFICANT ANNIVERSARY YEAR…
Armenia has stormed into Eurovision Song Contest this year with talented singer and songwriter Aram Sargsyan, alias Aram Mp3. Elegant, intelligent and charismatic Aram looks more like Dr Who material than a Eurovision pop singer. And it is not a coincidence that Aram looks like a smart doctor, he is a graduate from Yerevan State Medical University, where he started to perform in Stand-up Comedy shows, and later acting and singing in Jazz and Comedy Clubs in Yerevan, Moscow and all over Russia.
30-year-old Aram is not just a famous singer. He is also a talented musician and songwriter, comedian, showman and TV presenter. After winning the most popular TV singing competition “Two Stars” in 2007, Aram was invited to host numerous TV shows, including Armenian X-Factor and Armenian Idol. Aram regularly performs not only with his own songs but also with his acting partners in a popular show called “Vitamin Club”. Funny, sharp and multi-talented, Aram’s performances are always unpredictable and edgy.
Earlier in April Aram Mp3 toured Europe to promote his Eurovision song called “Not Alone”, music written by Aram himself and lyrics by his friend Garik Papoyan. For sure, this is not a typical Eurovision song choice, however several major bookmakers including Bwin and Sky Bet, have predicted the song as one of the favourites to win 2014 Eurovision Song Contest. The song has a record number of hits on Youtube with over 3.5 million views, more than ANY other song in this year’s Competition.
On May the 6th, Aram Mp3 won the Eurovision semi-finals with his song “Not Alone” in a LIVE concert from Copenhagen. Let us hope that “Not Alone” will break Armenia’s record 4th place by Sirousho’s energetic “Qele-Qele” song in 2008. Though Aram Mp3 considers himself extremely patriotic, he has chosen to sing in English, as he says music is a global language accessible to all with no restrictions and discrimination. The song “Not Alone” is a poetic ballad about universal human values of love, fear, dreams and hope…
ARMENIANS OF UK and EUROPE, WHEREVER YOU ARE, PLEASE REMEMBER to vote on Saturday night for the Armenian song at the Eurovision Song Contest 2014, please note that voting is open ONLY FOR 15 MINUTES after all songs have been performed LIVE on BBC 1 from Copenhagen.
