*************************************************BAPTISM Baptism is a Sacrament, through which the believer is absolved of sins, is regenerated by the Holy Spirit, becomes a Christian and attains adoption by God. "No one can enter the Kingdom of
God unless he is born of water and the Spirit" (John 3:5).
The Sacrament of Baptism can be held any time.
Parents of the child to be baptized must be baptised themselves.
One needs a godfather for baptism; the latter should guarantee the faith of the person being christened before Church and take him/her under his charge and educate the person according to the right faith.
The Godfather must himself be baptised.
Baptism is the first sacrament; a person who isn't baptised cannot receive other Sacraments.
Simultaneously with the baptism the sacraments of Confirmation and the first Holy Communion are administered.
It is recommended the child receive an Armenian name.
Note Requests for Baptisms should be made at least 4 weeks in advance.
