The Rt. Hon. Tony Blair MP Prime Minister 10 Downing Street LondonYour Excellency,
We write to you from the spiritual centre of the Armenian Church - the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin,
and extend our Pontifical blessings and solidarity to you and your countrymen in these difficult days. We
convey to you, the residents of London and all citizens of the United Kingdom the deepest condolences and sorrow of the Armenian Church and People for the victims of the contemptible acts of terrorism which
struck your capital city last week.
We also offer our sympathies to the families of those who perished and wish a quick recovery to the
wounded and injured, and state our firm belief that only through the unending mercy and compassionate love of our Lord Jesus Christ will mankind conquer evil and its manifestations in our world.
The Armenian people have a long history of experiencing the results of such acts of violence and share the
suffering of the English people. We condemn violence, terrorism, and acts of senseless aggression as do all
freedom-loving peoples united together with the values of human rights, civil liberties and democratic principles.
As Catholicos of All Armenians, we pray for the grace of the Holy Spirit to enter into the hearts of men, and for peace and security to be established throughout the world.
May our Lord Jesus Christ grant healing to you, and the government and people of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
With Blessings,
KAREKIN II
Catholicos of All Armenians

STATEMENT FROM THE ARMENIAN COMMUNITY AND CHURCH COUNCIL OF GREAT BRITAIN:
On behalf of the Armenian Community of Great Britain, the Armenian Community and Church Council of Great Britain joins with our Holy Father in expressing its deepest sympathies to those who lost their
loved ones and also to those who suffered injuries.
The taking of the lives of innocent citizens, and acts of terrorism of any kind, as a means to achieving
a goal are inhuman and cowardly and can not be condoned by civilized society.
On behalf of British Armenians, most of whom are Londoners, we condemn the terrorist attacks on our
fellow citizens of the United Kingdom. Armenians throughout the world have been campaigning by peaceful means for recognition of the Genocide perpetrated against One and a Half Million Armenians
of 1915, and we hope that all differences between peoples and nations be resolved and reconciled by peaceful means and the the world could co-exist in harmony, security and with universal respect of
Human Rights.
